The Fresenius Medical Care Foundation was created to help the patients, families, and communities most greatly impacted by kidney disease. Today, we are focused on raising awareness of kidney disease and transplantation as a lifesaving solution. By investing in innovative programs and solutions, we can change the trajectory of kidney disease for patients and communities.
The Foundation launched in April 2018 with the goal to raise awareness and provide support to people living with kidney disease. To maximize our impact, the Foundation will first focus on helping patients and their families and friends understand that kidney transplantation is the first choice to replace kidney function in those whose kidney damage has progressed to need for kidney (renal) replacement therapy. The Fresenius Medical Care Foundation is working to ensure every eligible person who needs a kidney receives one. Through partnerships with leading nonprofits like Donate Life America (DLA) and The National Kidney Foundation (NKF), we’re investing in innovations that will profoundly improve the living kidney donation process. Our solutions include:
