The Speedswap cartridge allows you to change a flow-compromised NxStage® filter without replacing the cartridge through the use of a pre-attached — yet durable — filter.

CAR-535: Cartridge Express with Speedswap4

A. Shipping Connectors
 Designed to maintain sterility and integrity of valves during storage and the shipping process. 

B. Valves
 The valves enable the user to disconnect the pre-attached filter. When disconnected, designed to stop fluid from flowing; when connected, designed to allow fluid to flow.

C. Line Restrictor

Designed to allow for pressure adjustment within the venous and arterial lines. Also allows for connections to alternate sources of access.  

D. Safe2 Rotator Connector
 Features a spin-lock designed to prevent accidental disconnect and improved handling for greater flexibility and durability.

E. Pressure Oscillating Diaphragm (POD) Technology

Created to eliminate blood-air interface, which may reduce the risk of clotting and related therapy interruptions.5

F. Needless Valve
 Designed for easy, on-demand aspiration or injection of fluids and complies with needle-free policies and legislation.6

Delivers high clearance of small and middle weight molecules through:

  • Peformance enhancing technology (PET)7,8

B. Priming Spike
Designed to connect to a standard bag of saline for Speedswap gravity prime

C. Priming Card

Designed to facilitate the priming of the replacement filter by holding the tubing in the appropriate position

D. Drain Bag
Designed to collect the saline used during the gravity prime process of the replacement filter

Risk Information
Kidney replacement therapy, as with any medical therapy, is not without risks. The decision of which therapy to use should be made by the physician, based on previous experience and on the individual facts and circumstances of the patient. There is no literature demonstrating one therapy is clinically better than another.9 NxViewTM is contraindicated as the sole method of monitoring a patient during treatment. The Speedswap cartridge can only be used with the following software versions and user guide:

  • NxView Software 3.0 or higher
  • SystemOneTM Cycler Software 4.14 or higher
  • NxStage SystemOne User Guide NC4921 Rev. J r higher
