Peritonitis is a serious and common infection related to touch contamination during peritoneal dialysis. One factor reported to have influence on peritonitis rates includes catheter connection technique.2
The stay·safe system’s PIN technology helps reduce the potential risk of touch contamination by sealing the fluid pathway prior to catheter disconnection during both CAPD and APD. With only one system opening per treatment, the stay·safe system has half the openings of conventional systems, reducing the risk of touch-related infection.
