Several months ago, a series of catastrophic earthquakes hit Türkiye and Syria, resulting in the tragic deaths of two of our colleagues in Türkiye, displacing 200 of our Fresenius Medical Care colleagues from their homes, and destroying three of our clinics. Despite this horrific event and their personal losses, many of our frontline workers continued their heroic work around the clock, providing the life-saving dialysis treatment our patients depend on.
During this time, we received an outpouring of inquiries from people asking how they could help. We are pleased to announce that in response to the disaster, we were able to accelerate the launch of CARES Fund International. This fund aims to provide assistance beyond our United States borders and support colleagues around the globe. Thanks to our employees’ generous contributions to the new fund, we have been able to provide essential needs, including food, clothing, and shelter, for many Fresenius Medical Care employees impacted by the disaster in Türkiye. However, our employees in Türkiye still need our support.
