OLAF SCHERMEIER, PhD
Chief Executive Officer, Global Research and Development, Fresenius Medical Care
Olaf Schermeier has over 20 years’ experience in various areas of the healthcare industry, including at the Charité clinic and Biotronik, both in Germany. He served as president of global research and development for Draeger Medical in Lübeck, Germany, before being appointed to his current position at Fresenius in 2013. He graduated from the University of Hannover in Germany with a degree in electrical engineering and holds his PhD in computer science from the Technical University of Berlin.
