FLUID MANAGEMENT

Crit-Line® IV Monitor

Providing Real-Time, Continuous Information to Help Achieve a More Effective Dialysis Treatment.

Overview

The Crit-Line® IV monitor measures hematocrit, percent change in blood volume and oxygen saturation in real time for application in the treatment of dialysis patients with the intended purpose of providing a more effective treatment for both the dialysis patient and the dialysis technician. Based on the data that the monitor provides, the clinician/nurse, under physician direction, intervenes (i.e., increases or decreases the rate at which fluid is removed from the blood) in order to remove the maximum amount of fluid from the dialysis patient without the patient experiencing the common complications of dialysis which include nausea, cramping and vomiting.

Profiles

The Crit-Line IV monitor offers easy-to-interpret patient profiles that can help the clinician improve the accuracy of treatment assessment and intervention during hemodialysis. By monitoring blood volume percent changes, caregivers can adjust treatment as necessary to maximize fluid removal and prevent common symptoms of dialysis, such as nausea, vomiting and cramping.

An "A" profile indicates that the patient's plasma refill rate is occurring at the same or a greater rate than ultrafiltration. This profile suggests that the ultrafiltration rate might be increased without immediate risk of intradialytic symptoms.

A "B" profile is a gradual slope that has been targeted to find the best compromise between a high ultrafiltration rate and the prevention of intradialytic symptoms. The ideal slope is not a fixed percentage of change in BV and will vary from patient to patient.

A "C" profile is represented by a steep slope, which indicates a rapid decrease in blood volume and bears a higher risk for intradialytic symptoms such as lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, cramping or hypotension.

Crit-Line IV Monitor

The Crit-Line IV Monitor is a fluid management monitoring tool that incorporates photo-optical technology to non-invasively measure absolute hematocrit and continuous oxygen saturation. In addition, the Crit-Line IV Monitor calculates the percent change in the dialysis patient's intravascular blood volume. The auto-scaling screen displays simultaneous graphic output of percent change in blood volume and oxygen saturation and or blood pressure versus time as well as alphanumeric output of hematacrit, oxygen saturation and percent change in blood volume.

Blood Chambers

The Crit-Line blood chamber is a sterile, single-use, disposable, optical cuvette designed for use with the Crit-Line IV monitor's sensor clip during acute and chronic hemodialysis therapy to non-invasively measure hematocrit, percent change in blood volume and oxygen saturation. The blood chamber is connected between the arterial bloodline and the dialyzer within the extracorporeal circuit during the hemodialysis treatment.
Individually packaged and pre-sterilized disposable blood chambers for use with the Crit-Line IV monitor. Luer-Lock attachment between arterial blood line and the dialyzer. Single-use only, disposable.

Packaged 36 per box or 288 per case.

CLiC blood chamber + Combiset bloodline

The CombiSet SMARTECH Bloodline consists of a CombiSet Bloodline with an integrated CLiC blood chamber.  As a result, only one connection is required (i.e., to the dialyzer) instead of two connections. One simple connection is designed to reduce the potential for misthreadings and blood leaks. One product means there's more efficient inventory control and less to store.

CombiSet SMARTECH comes in cases of 24.
CombiSet SMARTECH with heparin line P/N 03-2722-9C
CombiSet SMARTECH without heparin line P/N 03-2742-9C

Pole Mount

Heavy-duty mounting system secures Crit-Line® IV monitor to IV pole of a hemodialysis machine. Frees up storage space on machine and protects monitor from accidental drops. Replacement only. All Crit-Line IV monitors come equipped with a pole mount.

Wireless Radios

These wireless radios are used to transmit Crit-Line IV monitor data at the end of each patient treatment.

Radios are used with the Crit-Line printer software V1.6 or higher.

When a wireless radio is inserted into the USB port of the Crit-Line IV monitor, the Crit-Line IV monitor ensures that the radio is functioning as a transmitting radio.

When a wireless radio is inserted into the USB port of a computer, it will function as a receiving radio. It is recommended that you have one wireless radio for every Crit-Line IV monitor and one wireless radio for your clinic's computer.

Part Number CL90000076

Printer Software

Allows for the printout of treatment profiles at the end of each treatment. Software is designed for Windows based operating systems. This software also allows for the collection of raw data (at one minute intervals) as well as electionic capture of the patient treatment profiles.

V 1.6 or higher.
