The stay·safe® DISC is a unique dial that guides the patient through their CAPD exchange in four simple steps. The patient simply turns the dial to initiate each of the four steps — with no clamping required. When they reach the last step, a PIN is inserted into the catheter extension set, automatically closing the system prior to disconnection. This helps reduce the potential risk of touch contamination.

Step 1: Drain

To begin, the patient opens the clamp on their extension set. The dial should already be set to Position 1 (Drain).

Step 2: Flush

Once the drain is complete, the patient turns the DISC to Position 2 to Flush.

Step 3: Fill

After the flush step, the patient turns the dial to Position 3 to Fill.

Step 4: PIN/Close

When the fill step is complete, the patient turns the dial to Position 4 to PIN/Close.

3. When compared to conventional systems that require the user to memorize a series of clamping and unclamping steps. Experience may vary.
