Our Kingsport, Tennessee clinic welcomed Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), on October 9 to tour the facility, meet and observe patients undergoing dialysis treatment and discuss innovative treatments with clinic staff.
As Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and a physician, Congressman Roe visited the clinic with firsthand knowledge of healthcare for veterans. While the kidney disease community encompasses people from many walks of life, veterans are part of the hundreds of dialysis patients in Tennessee’s First District.
“It was a privilege to visit the Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis facility in Kingsport, Tennessee. As a physician for over 30 years, I know how important access to quality care is, which is why I’m glad to support the folks who provide this care like those at Fresenius Kidney Care Kingsport and the other dialysis clinics across the First District,” said Congressman Roe. “Not only was I able meet the nursing staff, technicians, nutritionists and administrators, but I was also able to observe and meet patients on dialysis to see the latest technology and equipment providing them the best care possible. As the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I was pleased to meet with two veterans who were receiving excellent care at the facility. I thank the Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis team for having me and for all they do for Tennessee patients.”
Dialysis is a life-saving treatment for individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and most patients receive dialysis three times a week. Fresenius Kidney Care strives to be with its patients every step of the way, from diagnosis, to choosing a treatment path to learning how to thrive on dialysis.
“We help people with kidney disease continue doing the things that matter most to them by providing high-quality, personalized care, resources and support to keep people alive and living beyond their expectations,” said Cameron Lynch, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs for Fresenius Medical Care North America. “We’re thrilled we were able to show Congressman Roe exactly how we help our patients feel the healthiest possible.”
Tennessee’s First District represented by Congressman Roe currently has 11 Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis clinics, 661 patients and 135 employees.
