Fresenius Kidney Care Provides Life-Sustaining Treatments for Dialysis Patients Affected by Hurricane Florence

FRESENIUS KIDNEY CARE’S 24-HOUR TOLL-FREE PATIENT EMERGENCY HOTLINE: 1-800-626-1297

Fresenius Kidney Care, the dialysis division of Fresenius Medical Care North America and the nation’s leading network of dialysis facilities, continues to provide care for dialysis patients in areas affected by Hurricane Florence. These patients, who require life-sustaining dialysis treatment every two to three days to stay healthy, are among the most vulnerable during a disaster. Patients have already been contacted by Fresenius Kidney Care with information on when and where to seek treatment before, during and after the storm.

For individuals in need of dialysis:

Individuals needing help with arranging dialysis treatment should call Fresenius Kidney Care’s 24 hour toll-free Patient Emergency Hotline at 1-800-626-1297. This service is available for all patients, regardless of dialysis provider.

Continued focus on our patients’ and employees’ well-being:

  • Before a storm, Fresenius Kidney Care provides every patient with an emergency kit to ensure they’re prepared and able to obtain dialysis regardless of the circumstances.
  • Our teams have been contacting each individual patient to make a plan to ensure they receive their treatments.
  • We are scheduling patients for early treatments and or planning to come in extra days to ensure they receive dialysis.
  • The impact spans an estimated 30,000 patients, 9,500 Fresenius Kidney Care employees and 454 Fresenius Kidney Care clinics across North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
  • Deliveries of gas, diesel, generators, trucks, water and supplies are en route to clinics and staff.
